Zion Wolf - Jai Paul
It was tough deciding which of the Jai Paul leaked tunes i’d want to post here, but i chose this one as it best showcases what he is slowly unveiling while still maintaining his mysteriousness.
Catchy foot tapping beats carrying haunting grungy vocals asking you the age old question “Can i make you fall in love..with me?” How can one not be drawn to it?
I may not do justice in trying to pen down exactly how i feel about Jai Paul’s music, these feelings are just as mysterious as his unveiling of his album- BUT i would like to add that his music makes me feel something that i have not felt since i first heard the likes of jamieXX(those beats), James Blake(that mysterious vocal) and Bon Iver(the eerie feeling of being in the woods). All of whom i love.
Now go search & listen to all his other leaked demos and slowly ‘fall in love’..with him!

Foreign Language - Flight Facilities ft. Jess
Can you get anymore Nu disco than this?
Disco undertones, super cool electric guitar strumming, Clapping and a female vocal resembling that of a early 90’s Kylie minus the aussi-ness.
Not something i could listen to over and over, but definitely good for a mid-playlist tune when your mind wanders off and your not really paying attention to the lyrics.

‘Definitely worth a listen’, was how this track was introduced to me. And 4:30 minutes well spent- i must say!.. not to mention the countless other minutes i spent hitting the replay button.
A young Lahore based up and coming dj’s, minimalist take, on the captivating Tarantula.
The track starts off with a familiar beat (from the original) not taking away too much but leaving you with the feeling that something is not right. Immediately, that feeling is replaced by a feeling of curiosity and intrigue.
As the song progresses, you start noticing the deep-seated undertones, like a wave slowly lapping the shore on a moonlit night.
Let the sound waves wash over you, let the drums beat against your pounding heart and let this tune take you on a journey in the night. All you need is to create the perfect setting in your mind and let the track do the rest.
As the song finally ends, hit replay and let it take you there again!

Apart from having a name that sends shivers of bliss down any girl’s spine, RYAN GOSLING has another talent that might just make us girls faint..MUSIC.
Releasing music since 2009 under the name ‘Dead Man’s Bones’, Gosling and Sheilds along with a choir of children have created an album of spooky and sultry tunes that could easily be the soundtrack to any hallow’s eve.
This specific gem has been remixed superbly by dj/producer Turbotito. Holding its spooky essence the music transgresses the binds of conventional rock/blues/jazz or any such genre. Gosling provides his sultry vocals with the choir chiming in for the chorus.
An overall brilliant piece of music, that i have listened to over a few dozen times on repeat, already. And i must add, one more listen and im ready to lose my soul.

Looking for a nice synth pop tune with an 80’s spin?
This song had me at “..a short stab of heartbreak”. That and the fact that 80’s style pop is sort of my guilty pleasure. Australian talent often drops some of the best surprises, and i’m so glad to have stumbled upon this little gem. Have a listen, for yourself. I assure you, one listen and the chorus will be playing in your head all day.
The two vocals feel so comfortable with each other, almost making you feel as if they have been singing together for years. Thank you to Chela for offering her vocals to compliment those of the male lead.
Looking forward to more from Clubfeet (and maybe more collaborations with Chela)

The vocals of Laura Mvula dominate this captivating song.
Raspy, with a range that swings both high and low, its harmonious ring allows this song to give off a vibe of both very old school Aretha Franklin merging into new age AlunaGeorge. Slowly as the clapping guides you along, you realize the harmony is just beginning as vocals hit high notes and the drums start to beat. The power notes hit right at the end with the closing “i’ll go where ever you go..” leaving you craving for more.

Sounding like a scratched CD, the song opens with a sound that leads you through the entire song. A vocal as sweet as honey yet strong picks up and aids the scratched cd sounds.
In all its weirdness, the song is hauntingly beautiful and once heard, makes a permanent fixture in your playlist.

California Represent!
Three sisters from Sunny Cali, giving us music that both transports us back into the 80’s while still being very current.
Falling is their latest release.
Until you don’t hear their others, you won’t instantly like this..which is why i advise you to start with ‘Don’t Save Me’ (their catchiest) and ‘Send Me Down’ (odd at first but really grows on you).
Catchy drum beats, distinct vocals that sound like a mix between Fleetwood mac & Kate Bush and a good old school pop feeling that you just don’t hear anymore.
HAIM is one of my favorites of 2013.

Four Floors - Sunday Girls (Diplo Remix)
Its not rare to come across a great female vocalist, nowadays.
But it is always fun to find one who is so well-remixed.
Sunday girl may not have been my favorite amongst the rest, but she certainly has caught my ear thanks to diplo’s beautiful way of highlighting her vocals bathed in such brilliant beats.
My favorite part, that makes me hit replay on the entire song over and over again, is at 3.55 on wards. Best way to end a song!
‘Better late than never’.. never applied so perfectly in this situation.

In Love, not Limbo - Of Oceans
Sit back and listen to the sounds of serenity.
Laying back, on a beach, with the sun hitting you in just the right places.
Let the eb and flo of the song hit against your body, let the smooth airy vocals transport you to a place where your mind, body and soul are completely at ease.
Just let go. And Listen. On repeat.

Settle Down - Kimbra (Hot Young Girls Wind it Down Remix)
One bad ass remix, for Kimbra, served cold!
An entrancing electro-wave allows you to ride all the way up to the shrieking vocal notes kimbra touches ever so effortlessly climaxing the song.
And just when you think that’s all folks, that’s the end of it, a heavy drum beat backed by heavier bass guides you into yet another chorus.
Haunting yet absolutely captivating.
